Rules
Golf uses one 52-card deck. Thirty-five cards are dealt face up into seven columns of five. One card starts the waste pile and the other 16 wait face down in the stock.
The goal is to clear every column onto the waste. Cards left in the stock at the end don't matter.
- The top card of any column can go on the waste when it is one rank higher or lower than the waste's top card. Suits don't matter: a 7 or a 9 goes on an 8.
- Aces and Kings don't wrap around: nothing goes on a King except a Queen, and nothing goes on an Ace except a 2.
- When no card fits, turn the next stock card onto the waste. The stock goes through only once.
- Columns are never built on, and an empty column stays empty.
How to play here
Tap a column's top card, or drag it onto the waste. Tap the stock to turn its next card.
Undo takes back as many moves as you like. Hint shows a move from a winning line our solver found. Finish plays the rest once the stock is used up.
Tips
Golf rewards looking ahead: the order you take the cards in decides how long a run you get.
- Before you play, count how far a run could go: 6, 7, 8, 7, 6 uses five cards on one waste card.
- When two cards fit, take the one whose column then shows a card that fits next.
- Clear the deepest columns early; a card buried under four others is the hardest to reach.
- Keep stock cards for when you are really stuck: there are only 16.
By the numbers
We dealt the first 2,290 Golf deals from our shuffle and ran our solver on each, a complete depth-first search. It won 1,000 of them (43.7 %); those are the deals you play here, sorted into easy, medium and hard thirds by how often a simple, casual way of playing wins them.
The search tries every line of play, so the other 1,290 deals can't be won under these rules.

Questions
Can every Golf deal be won?
No. Our solver, which tries every line, wins about four deals in ten. Every deal on this site is one of those: it was won before it was added.
Can I play a Queen on a King or an Ace on a King?
A Queen goes on a King, and a King on a Queen. Aces and Kings don't connect, so an Ace never goes on a King or the other way round.
Are some deals easier than others?
Yes. We grade every deal by how hard it is to finish: card deals by how often a simple, casual way of playing wins them, Minesweeper boards by how many tricky steps they need. New players start with easy deals; two wins in a row bring harder ones, two unfinished deals easier ones. You can also pick a level yourself under Settings.
Is Cards & Puzzles free?
Yes. Cards & Puzzles is free to use and needs no account.
Do I need an account?

What is the daily deal?
One deal per game each day, the same for everyone. Your stats show which daily deals you have won.
