Rules

TriPeaks uses one 52-card deck. Twenty-eight cards form three peaks that overlap in four rows: 3 cards at the tips, then 6, 9 and 10. Only the bottom row starts face up. One card starts the waste pile and the other 23 wait face down in the stock.

The goal is to clear all three peaks onto the waste.

  • An open card goes on the waste when it is one rank higher or lower than the waste's top card, in any suit. King and Ace connect: an Ace goes on a King and a King on an Ace.
  • A card turns face up and can be played once both cards that cover it are gone.
  • When no card fits, turn the next stock card onto the waste. The stock goes through only once.

How to play here

Tap an open card, or drag it onto the waste. Tap the stock to turn its next card.

Undo takes back as many moves as you like. Hint shows a move from a winning line our solver found. Finish plays the rest once every card left is face up.

Tips

A run can go up and down: 5, 6, 7, 6, 5 is one run of five cards.

  • When two cards fit, play the one that turns over a face-down card.
  • Work toward the peak tips: the cards high in the peaks are the last to open.
  • Before you turn a stock card, check every open card once more.
  • Save the run you can see: if a 6 and a 7 are open and an 8 is on the waste, play 7 then 6.

By the numbers

We dealt the first 1,038 TriPeaks deals from our shuffle and ran our solver on each, a depth-first search of up to 3 million positions. It won 1,000 of them (96.3 %); those are the deals you play here, sorted into easy, medium and hard thirds by how often a simple, casual way of playing wins them.

The other 38 may still be winnable: the solver gives up when it reaches its limit, so the true share of winnable deals is at least 96.3 %.

Questions

Can every TriPeaks deal be won?

Most shuffles can be won when you know where every card is; not all of them. Every deal on this site was won by our solver before it was added.

Does a King go on an Ace?

Yes. In TriPeaks the ranks wrap around: a King goes on an Ace or a Queen, and an Ace on a King or a 2.

Are some deals easier than others?

Yes. We grade every deal by how hard it is to finish: card deals by how often a simple, casual way of playing wins them, Minesweeper boards by how many tricky steps they need. New players start with easy deals; two wins in a row bring harder ones, two unfinished deals easier ones. You can also pick a level yourself under Settings.

Is Cards & Puzzles free?

Yes. Cards & Puzzles is free to use and needs no account.

Do I need an account?

No. Open a game and play.

Where are my stats and saved games kept?

In your browser, on this device. Your stats stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them.

Can I play offline?

Yes. After your first visit the games work without a connection, including on a phone.

What is the daily deal?

One deal per game each day, the same for everyone. Your stats show which daily deals you have won.
